1st HIGH SCHOOL TEXTS OF NEW GREEK LITERATURE

The interpretative approaches to the Literary Texts of the 1st Lyceum is a collective effort based on the many years of teaching experience of the authors. We believe that their design serves both teachers and students. Particularly:
a. The introductory part, the topic, the structure, the analytical processing by sections and the composition follow the well-known teaching method of Analysis and Synthesis, which we apply when interpreting each text. Approaching content and form is synchronic (what the text says and how it says it). Although this method is very traditional, it seems to be the most appropriate, because it enables the student to maintain the view of both the tree and the forest, the specific and the universal, while studying.
b. Critical evaluation helps the student to cultivate his artistic sensibility based on the response that each text finds in him. This criticism, which is not done arbitrarily but is based on valid literature, aims to distinguish the worthy literary work from the less important.
c. The parallel texts from works of the same theme respond to the need for multiple or even chronological consideration of the basic idea of ​​each text. After all, both these and the evaluation criteria, which are listed indicatively, are in accordance with the instructions of the Pedagogical Institute and with the latest Presidential Decree on the evaluation at the Lyceum.
d. As a collective effort, our interpretive approaches naturally preserve each author’s style and manner of interpretation. This not only does no harm, but also submits a pluralistic perception, capable of combating the univocal and the dogmatic.
