  • In the specific aid for “Homer’s Odyssey” taught in the 1st grade of High School, taking into account the curriculum and its teaching, we tried to focus our analysis on the main teaching objectives of each unit. At the same time we have tried to help in understanding the premise of the epic, its elaborate technique and the Homeric world as it projects through it.
    The analysis includes:

    • Interpretation of words or phrases.
    • Factual evidence.
    • Evidence of material culture.
    • Elements of structure.
    • Values ​​- perceptions – customs – institutions – socio-political organization.
    • Recording of faces.

    • Answers to Topics for discussion – assignments.
    • Answers to the questions about the parallel texts.
    • Answers to questions accompanying pictures in the textbook.
    • Answers to cross-curricular activities.
    • Supplementary questions with their answers.
    Depending, of course, on the content of each section, special topics are also commented on, while additional comments or scholars’ opinions are sometimes presented in boxes on the side of the pages. Also, at the end of some sections, Evaluation Criteria are proposed. The answers to the Criteria and the Supplementary questions are given at the end of the book.
